In Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, for the first time the player gets to be the eponymous princess: Zelda's doing the saving and must journey to Gamelon to find the King (who was supposedly sent to aid Duke Onkled) and Link (who was supposedly sent to aid the King in aiding Duke Onkled).
One of three Zelda titles for the CD-i, this and Link: The Faces of Evil were developed and released simultaneously, but aren't particularly liked among fans (the cutscenes and actors tend to be mentioned more than the gameplay itself). Not even Nintendo likes to talk about them.

Unused Audio
Like its sister game, Wand of Gamelon has an unused variant of the "dirty disk" message.
Unused Graphics
An animated sprite of a heart. It was most likely meant for an item, given its size and the fact that it has a proper palette - maybe for the Life Hearts dropped by Iron Knuckle and Hektan?
Four unused backgrounds exist in the game's intro and ending cutscenes. The ones found in the intro are backgrounds from Link: The Faces of Evil, recolored to fit the palette of The Wand of Gamelon's intro. (It should be noted that the former background was re-recolored and used in the ending cutscene.)
The ones found in the ending, however, are unique to this game.
The very last frame of the ending cutscene isn't shown in-game; the fade-out to black happens on the frame before it.
Obscured Background Parts
To do: Rip them. |
Similar to Link: The Faces of Evil, a few areas have parts that cannot be seen by normal means, as they're too high up (or too low) for Zelda to see; they are the top of Dordung Cave 2 and Reesong Palace 4, and the bottom of Reesong Palace 6.
