This game has a hidden level select.
This game has revisional differences.Frogger was the very last licensed game released on both the SNES and Genesis. It's really just the arcade game with a clipart-quality title screen. Woo hoo.
Level Select Code
According to programmer Scott Marshall, he placed what he calls a "backdoor" in the final game; this backdoor is actually a level select code. His description of the code is incomplete; here is how to do the code:
- On the Select Number of Players screen, hold C.
- Press Right nine times.
- With C held, press A to add one and B to subtract one from a number that will only appear at the top of the screen once you press A or B once. The range is from $01 to $0B. This number tells you which level you start at.
The function that handles this backdoor is at $15AA; at $1622 is a bit of code to set the internal counter to $0B, but this code does not appear to be used.
