So very stubbly.

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a PlayStation 3 port of Team Ninja's 2004 revival of Ninja Gaiden, originally an Xbox exclusive. It is not a direct port of the Xbox game but a reworked version with many changes, most notably the addition of new stages featuring the dominatrix-esque fiend hunter Rachel as a playable character and improved visuals with an increased resolution from 480p to 720p. In other words, it's just different enough from the original to not break its exclusivity on Microsoft's console.

Revision Differences

Acactussayswhat?

Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.

Compared to the previous edition, Ninja Gaiden Black, many puzzles were removed, an additional weapon (Dragon's Claw and Tiger's Fang) was added, some enemies were removed (Gobbdecks) and some were added (Mermen) and water running was automated.

Regional differences

In all versions but the American one, beheadings of human enemies have been removed.

Unused Weapon

As seen in early screenshots of the game, Rachel originally had a whip weapon. Some remnants of it can still be found, including a broken attack animation and a model. The Whip can actually be selected by modifying a save file.
