I dedicate all my future work on this (and the other) blog to Jean-Yves “Jive” Delpech. He had passed away, as a cancer he was suffering from finally took away his life. Jive was probably the nicest and most approachable Doomer in the community. Although I cannot say much for his last works in Doom, nor can I agree with his choice to give up Doom due to a questionable religion, I have the utmost respect for him. Though I don’t know him personally, I am aware of how much of a good person he was. His absence from this world is a gap that will never be filled.

There is little info on Contra Evolution on my site because it has not been very accessible to me; therefore, I cannot play it extensively to make a write-up for a page. In addition to this, there is little useful information about the game elsewhere for me to cite except that it is an abysmal version of Contra, which I agree from experience. Its developers didn’t exactly handle releasing this game the best way, neither, which only further hindered its accessibility.
On a more personal note, I admit that I despise that game and how much it is based on (micro)transactions. If that didn’t already discourage me enough from playing it, the unacceptable controls pretty much sealed the deal. What little I played the game, I wanted to do nothing else but close the app. This game has been a cruel reminder of the series’ direction and Konami’s attitude towards it; now Konami’s following suit with almost all of their other series, as you’re probably aware.
