La Seniūnija (plurale: seniūnijos) è la più piccola unità di divisione amministrativa della Lituania. Ogni seniūnija può essere sia una piccola regione, consistente di pochi villaggi, oppure una singola città, o ancora parte di una grande città. Variano in dimensioni e popolazione, a seconda dei luoghi e della natura. Alcune seniūnijos compongono un comune. Žirmūnai è la seniūnija più popolosa, con una popolazione intorno ai 50.000 abitanti, che supera la popolazione di diversi comuni.
Le Seniūnijos si occupano dei problemi a livello locale, come la riparazione delle strade, e la gestione dei dati dei comuni.
La Lituania attuale è divisa in 10 contee, 60 comuni e più di 500 seniūnijos, che fungono da distretti municipali. Nelle città, il presidente viene eletto in ogni quartiere, insieme al sindaco della città.
Storicamente, il termine era utilizzato per unità amministrative maggiori, come la Samogizia.
