So very stubbly.

This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

The Game Gear Puyo Puyo was, like its Genesis counterpart, released outside Japan in modified form as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. This poor series just couldn't catch a break.

Hmmm...

To do:
Is there a sound test? Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine has one.

English Mode

The game loads an English mode as Puzlow Kids when played on non-Japanese systems. The title localization is unique to the Game Gear version.

Puyos are called P-Kids, as the title suggests.

An interesting note is that Puzlow Kids' script is, where applicable, nearly identical to the English arcade version. This includes the two endings (which also includes a mention of the "Dark Prince", an alternate name for Satan that is used in most English releases), the difficulty select menu, and the "All Right!" and "Oh no..." graphics for Vs. Mode. Given the confusion regarding the English arcade game and its "legitimacy" due to lack of release details, this makes a case for the arcade game being an official release.
