Tristram Coffin in Dangerous Money (1946)

Tristram Coffin (Mammoth, 13 agosto 1909 – Santa Monica, 26 marzo 1990) è stato un attore statunitense.

Ha recitato in oltre 170 film dal 1939 al 1982 ed è apparso in oltre 70 produzioni televisive dal 1949 al 1970. Fu accreditato anche con i nomi Tristam Coffin, Tristram C. Coffin, Tristrom Coffin e Tris Coffin.^[1]

Biografia |

Tristram Coffin nacque a Mammoth, nello Utah, il 13 agosto 1909, da Edwin Chapin Coffin (1855-1938) e Elizabeth Christy Christensen Coffin (1880-1943).^[2] Lavorò come analista di notizie e cronista sportivo.

La sua carriera per il grande schermo si compone di molte partecipazioni; tra i personaggi a cui diede vita si possono citare Jeff King, protagonista dei 12 episodi del serial cinematografico King of the Rocket Men del 1949, Jack Foster in Rodeo King and the Senorita del 1951 e Jim Requa in California Firebrand del 1948.^[3]

Per il piccolo schermo fu accreditato diverse volte grazie a numerose interpretazioni di personaggi più o meno regolari, tra cui il tenente Doyle in 15 episodi della serie The Files of Jeffrey Jones e il capitano Tom Rynning in 45 episodi della serie 26 Men dal 1957 al 1959, continuando la sua carriera con una miriade di ruoli minori e inanellando una serie di apparizioni da guest star in decine di episodi di serie televisive, dall'epoca d'oro della televisione statunitense fino al 1970.^[4]

L'ultimo suo ruolo per la televisione fu quello di un generale per la serie Reporter alla ribalta interpretato nell'episodio All the Old Familiar Faces trasmesso il 13 novembre 1970. Per quanto riguarda le interpretazioni per gli schermi cinematografici, l'ultima è quella nel film Deadly Alliance del 1982 in cui recita nel ruolo di un dottore.^[4]

Morì a Santa Monica, in California, il 26 marzo 1990 e fu cremato.^[2]
